The opening of Snoqualmie Valley Little League’s season on Saturday, March 29 was marked by snow. Three players were ready for the bad weather, though: from left to right, Dawson Schneider, age 5, from North Bend, Kameron Marenco, age five, from North Bend, and Timber Solomon, also age five, from North Bend. Don McConkey, assistant superintendent of the Snoqualmie Valley School District and Roy Baker, league umpire and volunteer for many years, threw out the first pitches. Baker and McConkey both played in the first years of the league, which formed in 1958, and played their first full season in 1959.
