Officials from Valley cities, insurance agencies, King County and the Federal Emergency Management Administration will hold a town meeting on floods, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at Mount Si High School.
The meeting looks at new changes in the National Flood Insurance Program, flood claims, and what coverage provides for homes and businesses.
“It is essential that residents and business owners are educated on these topics as we head into the flood season,” said Angie Donaldson of Hauglie Insurance.
The meeting is being held to give residents the most comprehensive information possible from city, county and FEMA officials, Donaldson told the Valley Record.
Planned is a panel discussion, followed by a question and answer session. Flood preparedness information will also be provided by local police and fire departments.
