An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but even a flood won’t stop the dentist.

The husband-and-wife dental team of Dr. Peter Ristuben and Dr. Anna Lee is back in business after the Election Day flood filled their downtown Snoqualmie practice, Snoqualmie Family Dentistry. The building itself is in the process of being raised 5.3 feet, but a mobile office was brought in for treating patients.

“Our chief concern is taking care of our patients,” Ristuben said.

It’s been a little tricky getting everything back on track, but numerous individuals – from the contractors to city staff to fellow dentists – helped out to expedite repairs, arrange alternate facilities and help Snoqualmie Family Dentistry recover from the flood.

“We’re very grateful to all the people who helped,” Ristuben said.

Though Ristuben said he’s still trying to learn where the light switches are in the temporary office, overall things have gone much more smoothly than they could have and now they’re back to a nearly normal schedule.

“It works out pretty well,” said Office Manager Valerie Fogel.

The biggest complaint voiced by patients is that the temporary building doesn’t have the televisions in the ceiling like the regular office does, Fogel said. However, it has all the required dental equipment, though just two of the three chairs were able to fit into the temporary headquarters.
