Friday election update: 400,000 ballots counted, a few races conceded, two remain close

Nearly 2 million votes have been counted in the state as of Thursday afternoon and more than 400,000 in King County since election day, Nov. 3. A few races have stayed close, but several candidates have already conceded the races. Overall, challengers are leading incumbents in most North Bend races, while incumbents lead in the races for Snoqualmie Valley Hospital's Commission (Public Hospital District 4) seats.

A few races have stayed close, but several candidates have already conceded the races. Overall, challengers are leading incumbents in most North Bend races, while incumbents lead in the races for Snoqualmie Valley Hospital’s Commission (Public Hospital District 4) seats.

As of 4 p.m. Friday, the following results were reported.

North Bend:

City Council Position 1, Jonathan Rosen, unopposed, has 887 votes, plus 16 write-in votes;

City Council Position 3, Trevor Kostanich leads incumbent Dee Wayne Williamson, 862 (72 percent) to 322 (27 percent), plus six write-ins;

City Council Position 5, Brenden Elwood leads incumbent David Cook, 687 (55 percent) to 536 (43 percent), plus five write-ins;

City Council Position 7, Martin Volken leads Judy Bilanko, 741 (60 percent) to 478 (39 percent, plus three write-ins;

Mayor, incumbent Ken Hearing has 754 votes, 65 percent, with a total of 403 write-ins, 34 percent.

Voter turnout so far is 33 percent.

Snoqualmie:

City Council Position 2, Chelley Patterson has 1,219 votes, plus 20 write-ins;

City Council Position 4, Brad Toft has 1,203 votes, plus 33 write-ins;

City Council Position 6, incumbent Charles Peterson leads Joe Larson, 886 (53 percent) to 769 (46 percent), plus 2 write-ins.

Voter turnout so far is 26 percent.

Fall City:

Park District Commissioner Position 2, incumbent Lee Moderow has 743 votes, plus 6 write-ins;

Park District Commissioner Position 3, incumbent Terri Campbell has 739 votes, plus 10 write-ins;

Park District Commissioner Position 4, incumbent Kirk Harris has 731 votes, plus 6 write-ins;

Voter turnout for the park district is 31 percent.

Water District Commissioner Position 1, Eric Soderman has 329 votes, plus eight write-ins;

Water District Commissioner Position 3, Norman Jacobson has 335 votes, 97 percent, plus 7 write-ins.

Voter turnout for the water district is 32 percent.

Carnation:

City Council Position 1, incumbent Fred Bereswill has broken a two-day tie with Steve McFall and now leads, 153 votes (51 percent) to 141 (47 percent); the race also had three write-ins;

City Council Position 3, incumbent Lee Grumman leads Jim Ribail, 168 (53 percent) to 146 (46 percent), with no write-ins;

City Council Position 5, Dustin Green leads Ernest Fix, 166 (56 percent) to 125 (42 percent), plus 4 write-ins;

Voter turnout is 32 percent.

Duvall:

City Council Position 2, incumbent Leroy Collinwood leads Veronika Williams, 586 (57 percent) to 433 (42 percent), plus 7 write-ins;

City Council Position 4, Becky Nixon has 791 votes, plus 32 write-ins;

City Council Position 7, Jason Walker has 776, plus 14 write-ins;

Voter turnout so far is 27 percent.

Public Hospital District 4:

Commissioner Position 1, incumbent David Speikers leads Fritz Ribary, 3,581 (60 percent) to 2,270 (38 percent), plus 21 write-ins;.

Commissioner Position 3, incumbent Ryan Roberts leads Emma Herron, 2,808 (49 percent) to 2,798 (49 percent), plus 19 write-ins;

Commissioner Position 5, incumbent Joan Young leads Steve Weaver, 3,073 (54 percent) to 2,544 (45 percent), plus 22 write-ins;

Voter turnout so far is 30 percent.

Si View Metropolitan Park District:

Commissioner Position 4, incumbent Bud Raisio has 1,966 votes, plus 28 write-ins;

Commissioner Position 5, Susan Kelly leads a field of four with 1,406 votes, 55 percent, followed by Katie Eliza Klahn with 591 (23 percent), Dave Perkins, 301 (11 percent), and Jim Curtis, 234 (9 percent), plus 12 write-ins;

Proposition 1 is passing with 2,413 “yes” votes, 74 percent, to 841 “no” votes, 25 percent;

Voter turnout so far is 31 percent.

Snoqualmie Valley School District:

School Board Director District 2, Geoff Doy has 4,041 votes, plus 83 write-ins;

School Board Director District 3, Carolyn Simpson has 4,255 votes, plus 78 write-ins;

School Board Director District 5, Dan Popp has 3,993 votes, plus 86 write-ins;

Voter turnout so far is 29 percent.

Riverview School District:

School Board Director District 2, Jodi Fletcher has 2,453 votes, plus 17 write-ins;

School Board Director District 3, Carol Van Noy has 2,472 votes, plus 19 write-ins;

School Board Director District 4, Danny Edwards has 2,462 votes plus 17 write-ins;

School Board Director District 5, Sabrina Parnell has 2,438, plus 16 write-ins;

Voter turnout so far is 31 percent.

Fire/Utility Districts:

Fire Protection District 10 Commissioner Position 5, Mike Mitchell has 3,517 votes, plus 29 write-ins;

Fire Protection District 10 Proposition 1 is passing with 4,143 “yes” votes to 1,136 “no” votes;

FPD 10 voter turnout so far is 29 percent;

Fire Protection District 38 Commissioner Position 3, Chris Dahline has 1,170 votes with 12 write-ins;

FPD 38 voter turnout is 30 percent;

Fire Protection District 45 Commissioner Position 3, Jerry Smith has 1,433 votes with 17 write-ins;

FPD 45 voter turnout is 30 percent;

Snoqualmie Pass Fire Protection District 51 Commissioner Position 3, Lloyd Holman has 10 votes;

Snoqualmie Pass Utility District Commissioner Position 3, Jeremy Wiseman has 14 votes;

Voter turnout for both Snoqualmie Pass districts is 39 percent.

King County:

Charter Amendment 1 for law enforcement oversight is passing with 205,932  “yes” votes to 151,387 “no” votes;

Proposition 1 “Best Starts for Kids” is passing with 206,798 “yes” votes to 166,805 “no” votes.

Countywide, voter turnout was 32 percent.

Election results will be certified at a meeting of the county’s canvassing board, Nov. 24.
