Graduating girls can get free defense classes with Snoqualmie Police

A free women’s self-defense course is being offered by the Snoqualmie Police Department for young women graduating from Mount Si High School in 2014. The course is taught using the nationally-recognized Rape Aggression Defense Systems (R.A.D.). Topics include crime prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance, and progressing to the basics of hands-on self defense. Course leaders are certified instructors in women’s self defense.

Participants must attend all four sessions for a total of twelve hours. Classes are:

6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 17

6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 19

6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 and

6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 26.
