The Snoqualmie Valley School District is planning a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Mount Si High School, 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, to celebrate with the community as construction is set to begin in June.

Since voter approval of the high school remodel bond proposition in February 2015, the district has been working on plans to completely rebuild and expand Mount Si High School at its current address, 8641 Meadowbrook Way S.E., Snoqualmie.

“Immediately following passage of the bond last year, the team from NAC Architecture began working with the Mount Si High School staff and students on the design of our new high school, which is scheduled to open in 2019. During the past 15 months, a great deal has been accomplished, including finalization of the educational specifications for the new Mount Si High School building. Due to the outstanding work of the design team from NAC, district personnel, and staff at Mount Si High School, Phase I of construction is set to begin later this month,” said Superintendent Joel Aune.

“We hope people of the Valley will join us for the groundbreaking ceremony at Mount Si High School, to celebrate this significant investment in our students, our schools, and this community,” he added.
