Calvary chapel offers Thanksgiving for all

North Bend Calvary Chapel is opening its doors wide to anyone who finds themselves without a family on Thanksgiving Day.

The chapel will serve a free Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings, noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, to those without family, those who do have a family but no funds to make dinner, or to anyone who wants to join others for dinner.

For those who need a ride, a bus will pick people up during the day. Stops include the Centennial Log in Snoqualmie at 1:45 and 2:45 p.m., North Bend Ace Hardware at 1:20 and 2:30 p.m., the Truck Town Chapel at 1 and 2:45 p.m., and the Fall City Tesoro station at 1 and 2:30 p.m.

Christmas jam planned for families

A family dessert theater presentation, Jingle Jam, is 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at Cascade View Elementary School, 34816 S.E. Ridge Street, Snoqualmie.

Jingle Jam is a community dessert theater for parents and children in kindergarten through fifth grade. It is a media-driven Christmas program with live emcees, lots of crowd interaction, games, prizes and free family pictures. The cost is $1; all of the money goes to the benevolence fund of Lifepointe Community Church to help people and families in need in the Snoqualmie Valley. Jingle Jam is designed to encourage families to have a shared experience about the true meaning of Christmas so that they can talk about it throughout the rest of the season.

Santa events set

at senior center

A breakfast with Santa, Country Store Holiday Bazaar and Sweet and Treats Bake Sale are planned for Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Mount Si Senior Center, 411 Main Ave. S. in North Bend. The Santa Pancake Breakfast is 8 to 11 a.m. that day. The meal is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Children can get their photo taken with Santa for $4.

Collectibles and vintage items will be sold at the Country Store, and there will be sweets and treats at the bake sale, featuring handmade holiday crafts and gifts, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Santa to visit office

Santa Claus plans a visit to the Jeff Warren State Farm Offices in Snoqualmie, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 6 and 7.

Santa will be available for photos with all good little girls and boys, and their cats and dogs.

Families can stop in for a free photo. Pictures will be processed and available the same day.

Dahlia Barn holding special holiday sales

The Dahlia Barn in North Bend is holding a special holiday barn sale through mid-December.

The business offers wreaths, centerpieces, an option to ‘Build-Your-Own-Wreath,’ custom wreaths, candles, soaps, Christmas cards, flower presses, and more. All items are handmade. Dahlia Barn will have pumpkins until Thanksgiving and fresh-cut Christmas trees after Thanksgiving.

The business offers handmade items by five local artists, including Annette Craig who is well known around the Valley for Christmas wreaths and decor. Dahlia Barn also offers lots of dried flower arrangements.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
