Clear drains
to ready for rains
Heavy rains are beginning to fall in the Valley this winter, and Snoqualmie city officials are asking residents to help make sure local storm drains are working properly. Storm drains help to move water out of town quickly and keep roads clear. Citizens can help keep the entrance of storm drains clear of debris. Grass clippings, leaves, branches, and trash can accumulate and plug storm drains and channels, contributing to flooding. Residents should not dump or throw anything in the drainage ways and streams.
If you see dumping or debris in the drainage system, please contact the Public Works Department at (425) 831-4919. Regional resources for local weather conditions or hazards are available on the NOAA National Weather Service website at www.wrh.noaa.gov/sew/ and on the Regional Public Information Network at www.rpin.org.
