Beginning this month, Denise Duvall, Mark Ghaly and Carol Waters began three-year terms as newly elected directors at the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital Foundation.

Their election represents a 30 percent growth in board membership.

Duvall is a legal assistant with a local law firm; she brings professional and volunteer experience, working with a wide range of non-profit and civic organizations, to the board. In particular, Duvall believes her experience with youth, seniors, current residents and newcomers alike will help the foundation to foster health and wellbeing among the residents of the Valley.

Ghaly is a financial advisor with a national investment firm and locally active with groups including the Snoqualmie Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Snoqualmie Hospital Community Advisor Program. He will assist with analysis and strategic planning, and provide a basis for developing a planned giving program

Waters brings experience and expertise helping non-profits develop skill sets necessary to succeed. She is a strong supporter for local health care, and is excited by the prospect of helping the foundation not only in fundraising, but to raise the level of consciousness about the hospital district within the community.

Jim Schaffer assumes the role of president, while Cynthia Johnson becomes immediate past president. Lois Kotzmoyer will continue as secretary. Rodger McCollum was elected treasurer.

The Snoqualmie Valley Hospital Foundation’s goal is to meaningfully contribute to the health and wellbeing of the Valley. The foundation supports hospital district employees and patients and Valley youth through financial assistance, scholarships and in other ways. The first major fundraiser, Golf for Health, is June 8 at Mount Si Golf Course. Local merchants are encouraged to participate as a golf tournament sponsor or by donating items for a silent auction.
