Firefighter drive fills the engine
As part of its annual Toys for Tots toy drive, the Snoqualmie Fire Fighters’ Association is hosting its first-ever “Fill the Engine” Toy Drive event
Toys are abeing accepted at the Snoqualmie Fire Station lobby from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, through Dec. 22. The fire station is located at 37600 S.E. Snoqualmie Parkway.

Pflug named
caucus vice chair
State Sen. Cheryl Pflug, who represents the Valley as part of the 5th District, was last week elected by fellow Republicans as caucus vice chairwoman.
As vice chair, Pflug will preside over caucus meetings in the chair’s absence and act as liaison between ranking members on Senate committees and caucus leadership.
“My aim is to work in a collaborative way to reform state government and more efficiently and effectively meet the needs of our citizens,” she said.
The senate met earlier this month in Olympia for committee meetings and prefiling of bills. The legislative session officially begins Jan. 12, 2009.
