Tribe, Greenway, REI to build trail

The Snoqualmie Tribe, the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust and REI have joined forces to build a new trail on Tribal land in North Bend.

The trail will be used for several purposes, including school field trips and recreation. A work party is planned for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, in North Bend. For more information and directions, e-mail to Tami at tasars@rei.com.

Girls choir rehearsals set

Girls who love to sing can build their talent this fall with the Snoqualmie Valley Girls Choir, a non-profit organization for girls 9 to 16.

The first rehearsal is at Cascade View Elementary school from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18.

Tutors needed for library study zone

Valley residents’ skills in math, science, English, social studies and study methods can make a difference in a child’s life at the Study Zone, which is held weekly at area libraries.

The King County Library System is recruiting volunteer Study Zone tutors to assist students from elementary through high school. All it takes is a two-hour weekly commitment or availability for flexible substitute scheduling. Volunteers are needed for all sites throughout the county, but Snoqualmie is one of the libraries with a particular need.
