Fifth workshop set for Snoqualmie downtown plan

The fifth of a series of public workshops for the Snoqualmie Downtown Master Plan is 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 at the Snoqualmie Tribe offices at 8130 Railroad Ave S.E., in the first-floor conference room.

All Snoqualmie residents and business owners are encouraged to participate. The Planning Commission, the Economic Development Commission, Beckwith Consulting Group, and many Snoqualmie city staff members will attend. A quorum of the city council may be in attendance and may engage in discussion.

The Downtown Master Plan will provide a land use and development plan for the downtown commercial district. It will build upon previous conceptual studies, including the Downtown Vision Plan, the SR 202 Corridor Study and the Economic Development, Marketing and Branding Plan.

Workshop set to help business owners plan ahead

Valley business owners can find out how to think ahead and grow, at an upcoming workshop on business planning.

The workshop, taught by Bob Cole, economic development consultant for the city of Snoqualmie, is focused on business owners who are thinking about starting a business, want to grow their business, want to borrow money for their business, or want to be better organized. The eight hour workshop is divided into four two hour sessions.

Classes are scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. on four Thursdays, May 15, 22 and 29, and June 5, at the Snoqualmie Fire Station, 37600 S.E. Snoqualmie Parkway. Cost is $40 for each person. Enrollment is limited to 12 people.

Each person will receive a copy of Your Business Plan workbook, and a payment of $40 will be made to the city of Snoqualmie.

The workshop is sponsored by the city of Snoqualmie and the Snoqualmie Valley Chamber of Commerce. Cole is a member of the Snoqualmie Valley Chamber of Commerce and was director of the Small Business Development Center at Columbia Gorge Community College for 20 years.
