Leader chosen for North Bend
emergency response team
North Bend appointed Julie Jensen to head its community emergency response teams. In an emergency the teams serve as liaisons between between the city’s emergency operations center and neighborhoods.
Team members must learn fire suppression, search and rescue, disaster psychology, medical operations and other skills.
North Bend is just beginning to assemble the teams.
“We still have so far to go. We’re going to try to accept anybody we can on the team,” said Ron Garrow, the city’s public works director.
Training courses are being offered.

Survey seeks hazard information
Snoqualmie’s Hazard Mitigation Steering Committee has released a new survey to gather information about residents’ and business owners’ experience with local hazards and disasters, advance planning and mitigation efforts, and emergency preparedness.
Information is needed from all neighborhoods in Snoqualmie about many different types of hazards, such as floods, wild fires and earthquakes.
The online survey takes about eight minutes to complete and is anonymous. It can be accessed on the city Web site, www.ci.snoqualmie.us by following the “City Projects” and “Hazard Mitigation Planning” links.
Paper surveys are available at City Hall, 8020 Railroad Ave., or can be requested by calling (425) 888-5337 or e-mailing to SnoqualmieCityHall@ci.snoqualmie.wa.us.
Information helps reduce risks and updates the city’s hazard plan.
