In memory of a legend

Dutch-born American artist Peter Teekamp, who now lives in North Bend, will auction off this John Lennon portrait that he painted on eBay starting at 5 p.m. Dec. 8. The painting was done on Dec. 8, 1980, as Teekamp marked Lennon's death. The painting is titled "The 12 Faces and Phases of John." Half of the proceeds from the sale will benefit the American Red Cross. "With tears in my eyes, hearing the radio play 'Imagine' over and over again, I started to paint the faces and phases of John's life in spirit," Teekamp said. Also to be auctioned on Dec. 8 in memory of John is a new Teekamp painting titled: "All you need is Love." All of that painting's proceeds will go to the American Red Cross.
