King County Council member Kathy Lambert, who represent’s the county’s 3rd District, officially filed for re-election for the 2021-2025 term on Monday, May 17.
“It is my honor to represent the interests of my constituents, and I hope to continue that work in the next term of my office,” Lambert said. “In addition to dealing with the normal operations of county government, we have had the pandemic and a variety of federal and state programs to implement. As we come out of the pandemic and reset many aspects of our lives back to normalcy, we need people in office who understand the history and have the knowledge to help shape our new future.”
Lambert continued, “This year we will face a number of challengers who seem to represent national and Seattle-centric issues. The voters of District 3 do not want their neighborhoods and cities turning into ‘Seattle-lite.’ I am looking forward to continuing our work on solutions that fit the character and needs of our area.”
Lambert prides herself in her efforts to hold government accountable and to foster nonpartisanship. She has also helped establish several programs including: Safe Place, Court of the Future, the Barn Again program, and the Timely Response to Adverse Community Events program.
She serves on many committees, and is Chair of the Community, Health and Housing Committee and the Regional Water Committee. She is also Vice-Chair of the Law and Justice Committee and is a member on several Statewide and National Boards.
