Learn about biogas energy at Mount Si Lions talk today

A biogas developer will speak at a talk, 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at Boxley’s Place in in North Bend, hosted by the Mount Si Lions Club. Rolfe Philip is the presenter at the talk, titled “Biogas: Renewable Energy from Food Waste.” Biogas is a renewable energy source that is popular in Europe and just starting to catch on in North America.

Food waste represents approximately 20 percent of the garbage going to our over flowing landfills.  Instead, this food waste could be diverted to biogas plants where it will be converted into methane and then turned into either electricity or natural gas.
