Proposed development of the old Weyerhaeuser mill site, several miles from downtown Snoqualmie will be presented at a combined public open house and scoping process, from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 23, at Snoqualmie City Hall, 38624 SE River St. At 6 p.m. there will be a brief presentation on the proposal.
A proposed commercial/industrial plan and development agreement will guide subsequent planning and future development of the site. The potential development of approximately 261 acres would occur in several phases over a 10 to 20-year period. Build-out could include a mixture of light industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, office, retail, and residential uses. The majority of the site would remain undeveloped and maintained for open space, wetlands, streams, wildlife habitat, landscaping, and flood storage.
The mill site is located north of the Snoqualmie River and northeast of SE Mill Pond Road. It is part of a larger property operated as a lumber mill for nearly 100 years.
The event is not a public hearing, but there will be an opportunity for participants to comment following the presentation. Written comments can be submitted to Mark Hofman, City of Snoqualmie Director of Community Development by 4:30 p.m. on May 24.
More information about the proposed development is posted on the city website, at http://www.ci.snoqualmie.wa.us/DevelopmentinSnoqualmie/SnoqualmieMillPCIPEIS.aspx.
