Local residents earn degrees from WGU Washington

WGU Washington held its fifth annual commencement ceremony April 16 to celebrate the graduation of more than 1,900 graduates. Among the students receiving degrees were several Valley residents.

WGU Washington held its fifth annual commencement ceremony April 16 to celebrate the graduation of more than 1,900 graduates. Among the students receiving degrees were several Valley residents.

North Bend graduates include: Anita Florence earned a master’s degree in educational studies; Pamela Kennedy, master’s degree in teaching mathematics; Pamela Gendron, bachelor’s degree in information technology; Alison Wilson, bachelor’s degree in nursing; Amber Massee, bachelor’s degree in accounting; Sean Kennedy, master’s degree in elementary education; Sean Aikin, bachelor’s degree in information technology.

Snoqualmie graduates include: Tina Stevens Mix with a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction.; Sandra Salmon, master’s degree in nursing; Crystal Batlle, master’s degree in special education; Pamela Alexander, master’s degree in business administration; RajaSekhar Boyapati, master’s degree in information technology management; Scott Wilburn, bachelor’s degree in information technology.

These new graduates join more than 5,700 Washingtonians who have earned degrees at WGU Washington. In the five years since state lawmakers established WGU Washington, the university’s enrollment has grown to more than 9,200 full-time students, making it the sixth-largest university in the state.
