Local teachers plan supporting rally

Teachers in Snoqualmie Valley schools announced this week that they will not be involved in the one-day walkouts that some teachers in the state have been conducting in criticism of the state legislature's inaction on fully funding basic education. Instead, they will hold a rally to publicly advocate for the local students, teachers, schools and community.

Teachers in Snoqualmie Valley schools announced this week that they will not be involved in the one-day walkouts that some teachers in the state have been conducting in criticism of the state legislature’s inaction on fully funding basic education. Instead, they will hold a rally to publicly advocate for the local students, teachers, schools and community.

Members of the Snoqualmie Valley Education Association, as well as some classifed staff and some district administrators will march on the Snoqualmie Parkway sidewalk between Center and Douglas Avenues, 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday. Parents, students and community members are invited to join the event.
