Snoqualmie Valley residents were among CenturyLink customers who lost access to long-distance calling on land lines for several hours on Wednesday, July 6.
A NOANET fiber was accidentally cut between Bremerton and Shelton, downing phone connections throughout the Northwest.
Carnation City Hall and Snoqualmie Police Department staff both noticed the outage. Emergency 911 calls were affected. Callers were asked to dial 9-1-1 with a mobile phone, or drive to the nearest fire station or medical facility.
Service was restored by 3 p.m. Wednesday.
