Lower Snoqualmie Valley seminar helps parents, children make good behavior choices

Half of all 13-year-olds say their parents have not talked to them seriously about the dangers of alcohol and other drugs. Parents can help start the conversation with Guiding Good Choices, a four-week series for parents of nine-to-14-year-olds who want to learn how to avoid substance abuse and other problem behaviors in adolescence.

Parents can help start the conversation with Guiding Good Choices, a four-week series for parents of nine-to-14-year-olds who want to learn how to avoid substance abuse and other problem behaviors in adolescence.

The “best-practices” program gives parents the knowledge, skills and support to guide them into early adolescence.

The first four sessions are 6:30 p.m. Mondays, April 26, May 3, 10, and 17, at Stillwater Elementary, 11530 320th Ave. N.E., Carnation. The final session is 1 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at the Carnation Fire Department. A $30 donation is accepted toward the cost of a family guide.
