New agent joins Valley real estate office

Lynn Cassell is the newest agent to join the team at Better Properties Real Estate Snoqualmie Valley, located at 35131 S.E. Douglas St., suite 103, on Snoqualmie Ridge.

Cassell has been selling real estate for over 20 years. With a degree in design, she also enjoys designing custom homes, specs, and remodeling older homes. She has lived in the Valley for 15 years and takes part in recreation, volunteering with local clubs and organizations.

Center for Dance opens at new location

The Center for Dance and Dance All Night have opened at their new location, 30540 S.E. 84th St., Suite 1, in the I-90 Preston Business Park next to Talking Rain.

The Center for Dance is continuing in the tradition of being a community school, teaching dance to students of all ages. Kathi Marin-Bemm opened her studio in 1987 in downtown Issaquah and then moved her studio to Preston in 2001. The Center for Dance offers instruction in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, show jazz, hip-hop, and creative movement for preschoolers. Theater classes are now being added for children and adults. 

The instructors provide strong technical training, and Marin-Bemm’s goal is to build self esteem and comfort in each student’s creative expression. She said the new location provides the freedom to begin branching out into some new and exciting directions.

Dance All Night, run by the brother and sister team of Bill Ramos and Lupe Finch, has been in the Valley for 17 years, moving to the Center for Dance in 2006. Ramos and Finch offer Latin and smooth ballroom dance classes including, dances seen on the television show “Dancing With The Stars” such as rumba, mambo, cha cha, samba and the traditional waltz, foxtrot and tango. In addition they offer classes in salsa, both East Coast and West Coast swing, and nightclub two-step.

Attic Bistro announces happy hour

Salish Lodge and Spa has announced a new happy hour and menu in the Attic Bistro restaurant and bar. Starting this month, the Attic Bistro’s new menu will feature Northwest-inspired dishes and drink specials including mini martinis and wines by the glass.

The new happy hour and menu, will give guests an opportunity to visit, relax and unwind, said Roy Breiman, culinary director at Salish Lodge and Spa.

The Attic Bistro is an extension to the lodge’s extensive culinary offerings, presented in a more casual setting.

Guests who visit the Attic Bistro can dine near a newly finished floor-to-ceiling slate fireplace and engage in relaxed conversations with friends while enjoying the spectacular views from above the 268-foot Snoqualmie Falls.

The Attic Bistro’s new menu will be crafted with the same culinary artistry and fresh ingredients as The Dining Room at Salish Lodge.

The Attic Bistro happy hour will be served Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. The Attic Bistro is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations can be made by calling 1-800-2-SALISH.

Edwards to retire

Valley residents are invited to a party to celebrate the retirement of District Ranger Rudy Edwards, who has served the Snoqualmie Ranger District for 36 years. The catered lunch will be held Thursday, May 29, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Snoqualmie Ranger District Conference Room, 42404 S.E. North Bend Way, North Bend. Pay $15 when you arrive for a barbecue buffet.
