Requirements for Washington State high school seniors to graduate are changing, and the Mount Si High School PTSA will discuss those changes on Monday, Feb. 7.
Since the introduction of the High School Proficiency Exam (HSPE), graduation requirements over the next few years will depend on the grades students are in.
Following a brief PTSA meeting at 6:30 p.m., school counselor Jessica Easthope and Assistant Principal Beth Castle will discuss and answer parents’ questions, including how much math or PE students must take, what the HSPE is, general HSPE graduation requirements, what to do if students fail parts of the test, and how parents can help their students prepare for the test.
After the HSPE presentation, parents can stay for the Parent Advisory Group meeting at 7:30 p.m., and talk with Principal Randy Taylor about what’s happening at the high school.
