Mount Si High School’s 285-strong class of 2007 leaves high school behind at commencement ceremonies set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14, in the Mount Si High School gymnasium.

Graduates receive five tickets each for guests to attend the commencement ceremony, and were able to request more through a lottery held June 4.

Sharing their thoughts on graduation, MSHS seniors Tephra Brune, valedictorian Kathryn Christensen and salutatorian Kamryn Bailey will speak. Performers include Charles Moetului, who will give a piano and vocal rendition of “Goodbye Si,” Jessica Oliver, who will sing “Memory Lane,” and the Mount Si Wind Ensemble.

Mount Si Principal Randy Taylor will serve as host, and the Snoqualmie Valley School District Board of Directors will be on hand to present diplomas.

The class of 2007 has been a special, very spirited group, Taylor said. The senior class has performed well academically and on the field, and started up the “Mount Psi-chos” rally group to raise school spirit.

“They’ve just taken it to a different level,” he said.

Mount Si’s class of 2007 has amassed more than $2.6 million in scholarships and awards. Additional honors have been earned by students, but not yet reported to the school.

Senior scholarships were announced Monday, June 4, at an awards ceremony.
