Valley residents who rely on Snoqualmie Valley Transportation program’s buses to connect to vital services don’t have to compete with each other for service anymore.

King County Metro Transit’s recent donation of an 11-seater bus helps the busy local bus provider, based at the Mount Si Senior Center in North Bend, meet the needs of an ever-growing ridership.

The donation brings the Snoqualmie Valley fleet up to five buses.

The donation came as a result of a Metro official spotting a blurb on the need for a shuttle in the Snoqualmie Valley Record.

While King County provides regular shuttles to metro areas, an hourly circular route that connects to Issaquah and an Access service that helps riders with disabilities within a mile of the main route, there’s still a need for a local bus system.

“Moving around the community is not provided by any other service out here,” said Ruth Tolmasoff, executive director for Mount Si Senior Center.

Snoqualmie Valley Transportation’s five buses ply routes between North Bend and Duvall, picking up riders who request a bus and taking them where they need to go in the Upper and Lower Snoqualmie Valley.
