A new four-acre park in east North Bend is expected to be completed by the end of the year, the city announced in a statement this week.
The Dahlgren Family Park will feature playground equipment, trails and a sand volleyball court, and will provide a connection to the adjacent 40-acre Tanner Landing Park, owned by King County and also currently under construction.
The Washington State Department of Natural Resources is constructing both the Dahlgren and Tanner Landing Parks, which sit along Southeast North Bend Way. Construction coincides with the development of a 212-unit multifamily housing project on the Dahlgren Property, also referred to as the mule pastor.
The two parks sit on opposite sides of the Snoqualmie Valley Trail, with Tanner Landing providing access to the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River. A new road being built as part of the Dahlgren project is expected to link the two parks, providing access for cars to a non-motorized boat drop-off at Tanner Landing.
