King County prosecutors have charged a 25-year-old North Bend man with possession of child pornography.

Charging documents filed Friday, May 14, in King County Superior Court accuse Jayson T. Lottermoser of a single count of possessing depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Charges stemmed from a Bellevue Police investigation last November.

Court documents state that on Nov. 17, 2009, Lottermoser brought a damaged home computer drive to a Bellevue computer business, Hard Drives Northwest.

The drive had been partially written over, and Lottermoser asked store staff to salvage data, photos and music. During the recovery process, employees found more than a hundred photos that appeared to be child pornography, some depicting child rape, according to charging papers. The store’s service manager then called Bellevue Police.

Speaking to police, Lottermoser denied that he was searching for child pornography, telling Detective Charley Vance that he had been searching for pornography related to the Olsen twins, Harry Potter actress Emma Watson, anime and redheads using a peer-to-peer file sharing network.

He told police that he knew there was child pornography on the drive, but was not interested in it and hadn’t got around to deleting it yet.

He was cited and released.

An arraignment is Thursday, May 27, in King County Superior Court.

Prosecutors had attempted to seek $25,000 bail and an order prohibiting Lottermoser from contacting minors.
