A North Bend man accused of taking up-skirt photos of a 12-year-old girl at a Bellevue shopping mall has pleaded not guilty in King County Superior Court.

Charged with voyeurism, a felony, Richard Burk, 46, was arraigned on Wednesday, July 15.

Prosecutors say he was caught on a security camera taking photographs of the child while she was trying on shoes at the Nordstrom Rack store at Factoria Mall.

Bellevue police arrested Burk, who witnesses identified, and say they found a camera hidden in a fleece pullover. Prosecutors say the pullover had a lens attachment glued inside to make it easier to surreptitiously take pictures.

According to court documents, when police told Burk’s wife why they were searching their North Bend home, she dropped her head and said, “No, not again.”

She told the police that she had around 25 pictures showing the “underskirts of females” on their home computer in February 2008, according to prosecutors.

KOMO TV reported that Burk is out on bail, but was ordered not to have any contact with any minor.
