North Bend senior receives National Merit scholarship to U of Vermont

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced approximately 3,000 winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by U.S. colleges and universities. Among them was North Bend student Theodore J. Mandelkorn, a senior at Eastside Catholic High School. He received a scholarship from the University of Vermont.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced approximately 3,000 winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by U.S. colleges and universities. Among them was North Bend student Theodore J. Mandelkorn, a senior at Eastside Catholic High School. He received a scholarship from the University of Vermont.

Officials of each sponsor college selected their scholarship winners from among the finalists in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program who plan to attend their institution.

An additional group of scholars will be announced in July, bringing the total number of college-sponsored Merit Scholarship recipients in the 2016 competition to approximately 4,000.
