King County Sheriff’s Office’s North Bend substation responded to the following:

Sunday, Oct. 11

BBs shot? At 12:25 p.m., a sheriff’s deputy was flagged down on Bendigo Boulevard at South Fork Avenue by a driver who heard a strike on his windshield, leaving a round chip. The deputy went to look around a wooded area of the intersection, did not see anyone, but found a can hanging on a bush with holes and a pellet inside. No one was found in the area.

Friday, Oct. 9

Suspicious van: At 9 a.m., a resident called in explaining, that they were advised to call whenever a gray van was seen in the area, due to numerous burglaries. The vehicle was seen in the area with a man on board, causing neighbors to get nervous. The deputy told neighbors to call them while the vehicle was still in the area.

Stealing beer: At 6:45 p.m., two North Bend Safeway managers called the sheriff’s office to report employees stealing beer through store’s back door. Managers had heard rumors of employees stealing beer while taking out the trash. Following an employee who was taking out the trash, one manager witnessed them take three cases of Coors Light from trash can and put them in an unidentified silver Nissan. An additional Safeway employee was seated in the car. The beer was recovered and the employee was booked with one count of theft in the third degree.

Wednesday, Oct. 7

Odd lights: At 7 p.m., sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence, where a woman reported seeing unsual lights. Before leaving her house, she noticed two small lights on the ramp leading to her front door. When she returned, the lights were gone. Neighbors did not see them stolen or notice anyone in the yard. No suspects were found.
