Building on last year’s success, the second annual Doggiestock celebration invites families and dog lovers to a day of food, exhibits, contests and more.

Pet owners can bring their dogs, blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy entertainment and activities, noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept 18, at Snoqualmie’s Centennial Field Park.

Support from sponsors Alpine Window Cleaning & Alpine Gutter and Carriage Insurance made the second annual festival possible during tough economic times, said Jody Runge, Doggiestock organizer.

Proceeds from the festival help Valley Animal Partners’ Spay & Neuter Program. The group holds fundraisers throughout the year to keep this program available to pet owners.

“Vally Animal Partners needs more awareness in the Valley,” Runge said. Doggiestock helps families understand the importance of having pets spayed and neutered.

With 300-plus attendees last year, Doggiestock organizers are hopeful that there will be more visitors this year.

“We want to cater to pet-oriented people,” Runge said. “You don’t have to have a dog to come out, but it would certainly help to like them.”

Musical entertainment includes The General, the Fabulous Boomers, Kelly Bradley and Hiwatt.

New this year is a kick-off “Doggie Walk” starting at the Centennial Fields parking lot, which loops along the Snoqualmie River Trail before ending at the park.

A doctor from Treuting Veterinary clinic will be available for shots, micro-chipping, general care and questions.

Everybody is invited to the public event, Runge said.

“Don’t miss out,” she said.

“DoggieStock has something for everyone. Whether you have a dog or not or maybe want to adopt one, this will be a fun day of live music, delicious food and beverages and many exhibitors with interesting products and services.”
