Picture from the past

This 1910 photograph of Snoqualmie shows a portion of downtown bordering the railroad which is much changed. The Snoqualmie Methodist Episcopal Church in the center of the photo was rolled across Maple Street in 1924 to become the American Legion Hall. A larger Methodist Church was built on the same lots. The home to the left of the church is that of Herbert and Alice Knowles, whose daughter, Blanche Jackson, provided this image to the Snoqualmie United Methodist Church History Committee and the Museum. The home immediately to the right of the church, across River Street, is the Alfred Kinsey home, which became the home of Bert and Emily (Kinsey) O'Dell. This home was torn down to build the current clinic. Next was the home of Ed and Sarah Kinsey. The beautiful building on the far right is the Vaughn School, used for years before being converted to a home and then torn down.
