King County Proposition 1, supporting upgrades to the regional emergency radio network, is passing, with 64.99 percent approval and 35.01 percent rejection, as of Wednesday, April 29.
If passed, the proposition would raise property taxes by $0.07 per $1,000 (more than $2 a month for the median homeowner) of assessed valuation for nine years. Collection would begin next year.
The radio network is used for dispatching and communicating with police, fire and other first responders.
Election results are not final until they are certified on May 12.
