A seven-acre piece of Snoqualmie Ridge will suffice for the new incarnation of Snoqualmie Valley Hospital.

Plans for the three-story, 63,000-square-foot facility on land across the street from the formerly proposed site for a new hospital campus, are considerably simpler than the former vision on 70 acres, shot down this fall by the King County Council.

“We’re buying much less acreage,” Hospital CEO Rodger McCollum said.

With the land already in city limits, the hospital won’t need to make any development rights swaps.

An additional 30,000-square foot medical office building is also being contemplated, and the site would include a helicopter landing pad. McCollum said the remaining land could work for a hotel.

King County Hospital District No. 4 will need a zoning amendment from the city of Snoqualmie to allow a hospital at the site.

The hospital district is working with Opus and Salmon Bay Design Group on the project. No tentative cost for the project was available.

The district is continuing to work with Public-Private Development Solutions to seek tax-exempt funding for the new hospital.
