Snoqualmie Councilmember Katherine Ross has announced her plans to run for election to retain her seat at Position 2 on the city council. Ross was unanimously appointed to the position from a pool of nine candidates in April.
“I intend to build upon the city’s accomplishments and bring a fresh perspective to the challenges ahead. As a mother of twins, and passionate community volunteer of 18 years, I have devoted myself to supporting the needs of families and children in our Valley,” she said.
Ross is a board member of Encompass and past president.
“I wish to strengthen Snoqualmie’s partnership with human service organizations to build a healthier, stronger and more resilient community. This can be accomplished by increasing city revenues through economic development that respects and enhances Snoqualmie as a premier destination and place to live,” she said.
Ross serves on the council’s Public Safety, Parks and Public Works Committees, as well as serving as a city liaison to the YMCA and Snoqualmie Valley Hospital Boards. She served on the Snoqualmie Library and Human Services Advisory Committees. She is a graduate of the Snoqualmie Citizens Academy and Community Emergency Response Team. She brings over 17 years of business management experience to the Council position.
Ross has been endorsed by Snoqualmie Mayor Matt Larson and City Councilmembers Bob Jeans, Bryan Holloway, Heather Munden, Kathi Prewitt, and Sean Sundwall.
The primary election will be Tuesday, August 1.
