Two businesses in Carnation are planning special events for their anniversaries, Saturday, Nov. 15. Miller’s celebrates its 10th anniversary with a new sale and its regular blend of art and community offerings. Just a few doors down the block Tolt Yarn and Wool celebrates its first anniversary with a new product launch and a book signing event.

At Miller’s, everything in the store will be 10 percent off, and there will be drawings for a specially designed 10th anniversary flour sack towel. The store will also display a slide show retrospective of the many events, artists and musicians that have been a part of Miller’s.

Tolt Yarn and Wool will unveil its newest collaboration, Snoqualmie Valley Yarn, developed with local farmers, Jeff and Katya Rogers. Along with the Valley pasture-raised wool, the shop will release a pattern collection designed by Jessie Roselyn.

Author and knitwear designer Gudrun Johnston will be on hand from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, signing copies of her new book, “Shetland Trader, Book Two.” From 1 to 3 p.m., Johnston will give a presentation on the traditions of lace knitting.
