The Snoqualmie Valley School District has announced a tentative agreement with the Snoqualmie Valley Education Association (SVEA) for a new three-year teachers’ contract.
After a full year of preparation and seven months of collaborative work, the contract agreement was reached Aug. 8. Teachers are expected to review the contract at the Aug. 23 SVEA general membership meeting.
Superintendent Joel Aune said, “We want to thank the team for their time and dedication to this process, which was led by Assistant Superintendent Jeff Hogan and SVEA President Lisa Radmer. Team members Lynn Bradwell, Warren Hopkins, Chris Jackson, Freedom Johnson, Tony Manjarrez, Rhonda Schmidt, Ryan Stokes, Ray Wilson, Amy Wright, and Nate Ziemkowski are to be applauded for their great work.”
“The SVEA and district administration embraced a collaborative approach to making our district a better place to teach and to learn. I believe our members will appreciate the positive agreements this process allowed us to reach, said Lisa Radmer, president of the SVEA.
“In the future, I am hopeful SVEA and the administration will continue to use this collaborative method.”
Once the agreement is ratified by teachers, the school board will vote on the contract. The vote is expected to be made at the Sept. 15 board meeting.
