Members of the Snoqualmie Valley Administrative Secretaries Association (SVASA), a union representing more than 30 secretaries in the Snoqualmie Valley School District, voted to approve a three-year contract with the district. The agreement was finalized by the School Board of Directors on Feb. 7; adjustments in salaries will be retroactive to September 2007.

Superintendent Joel Aune expressed his appreciation for the workers.

“Our secretaries play a critical role within the school system. They provide support to administrators and supervisors, to certified and classified staff, to students and parents. As front-line communicators, school secretaries make important contributions to creating a positive environment for our schools,” Aune said.

School Board President Marci Busby said the contract rewards “the work of our employees while being a good steward of public funds, and high quality education.”
