Police and fire agencies in the Snoqualmie Valley responded to the following calls:

Wednesday, Aug. 28

Small-time thief: At 8:30 a.m., a caller in the 200 block of Cedar Avenue South reported that someone had broken into his apartment two days earlier. The victim said that around 1:30 p.m. Aug. 26, he left his home, and when he returned, it appeared that someone had entered through the partially-open kitchen window by removing the screen and crawling through the hole. The person stole a small amount of tobacco and candy.

Monday, Aug. 26

Self-service: At 6:27 p.m., a resident reported via the sheriff’s website that an unknown man had been seen earlier in the day at their home in the 600 block of Ballarat Avenue. The man got out of an older blue pick-up truck and had been cutting hydrangeas from the front yard of the home, until a neighbor confronted him.

Vehicle vandalism: At 11:13 a.m., a caller reported some damage to his vehicle, left overnight parked in the 45500 block of Southeast North Bend Way. Someone had partially detached the back license plate, and when the owner drove the truck to a gas station, he found a white crystalline substance in the opening to the gas tank.

Sunday, Aug. 25

Smashed: At 6:06 a.m., a caller in the 13600 block of 432nd Avenue Southeast reported that someone had smashed the windshield of her car, parked on the road. She said she didn’t see any suspects, but had heard a loud noise at around 10:30 p.m. the previous night. She suspected it was her estranged husband.

Sunday, Aug. 25

Domestic Violence: At 1:58 a.m., police were called to break up an incident in the 4000 block of Tolt Avenue. They separated the parties, and booked the woman into jail for fourth-degree assault.

Friday, Aug. 23

Warrant: At 12:59 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle about an equipment violation at 329th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 45th Street. The driver also had an arrest warrant, so the officer arrested him and impounded the vehicle.

Wednesday, Aug. 28

Alarm at the Y: Snoqualmie firefighters responded to the YMCA/Community center twice the night of Aug 28. The building’s duct work was being cleaned by a private company and the workers had set off the fire alarm both times.

Tuesday, Aug. 27

Trash can fire: Snoqualmie firefighters responded to Delta St for a trash can fire. The homeowner was smoking salmon and dumped his old coals into the trash can. The fire was extinguished by the home owner with a garden hose before any damage to the house occurred.

Monday, Aug. 26

Gas smell: Snoqualmie firefighters responded to a smell of gas in a residence. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the homeowner’s daughter had left the gas stove on without it being lit. The mother arrived and turned the stove off and opened the windows. Firefighters arrived and tested the air to make sure the house was safe to occupy.

Fall from bridge: Snoqualmie firefighters assisted firefighters from Eastside Fire and Rescue for a man who had fallen off the State Highway 202 Bridge by the Salish Lodge. The man was located, placed in a Stokes litter and walked back up to the road. Bellevue medics transported the man to Harborview Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle.

Brush fire: Snoqualmie firefighters assisted Eastside Fire and Rescue and Fall City Fire Department on a brush fire in the median of I‐90 by mile post 24. Three lanes of eastbound traffic were shut down and it took firefighters over an hour to extinguish the flames.

Medical calls: In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie firefighters responded to 11 medical aid calls, bringing the annual call number to 768.

Fall City Fire District

Tuesday, Aug. 27

Fall from bridge: At 12:01 a.m., firefighters responded to a man in his 60s who had fallen from a bridge. He was treated and transported to Harborview Medical Center via a paramedic unit from Bellevue Fire Dept.

Dizziness: At 9:19 a.m., firefighters responded to a 54-year-old woman who was experiencing dizziness. She was treated and transported to Swedish Hospital of Issaquah via private ambulance.

Monday, Aug. 26

Brush fire: At 2:23 p.m., firefighters responded to a brush fire. The Fall City fire crew provided water for the incident and assisted with fire line construction.

Sunday, Aug. 25

Bark fire: At 12:30 p.m., firefighters responded to smoldering bark fire. The top of the bark fire was broken up with a hose line and rubbish hook.

Saturday, Aug. 24

Hurt man: At 3:44 a.m., firefighters responded to a 46-year-old man who had previously been involved in a motor vehicle accident. He was treated and transported to Swedish Hospital of Issaquah via the Fall City Fire aid car.

Friday, Aug. 23

Fracture: At 12:42 p.m., firefighters responded to a 40-year-old woman with a possible bone fracture. She was treated and transported to Swedish of Issaquah via the Snoqualmie Fire Department.

Thursday, Aug. 22

Appliance fire: At 12:36 p.m., firefighters responded to an appliance fire. On arrival, no smoke or fire was noted. The appliance was secured to the outside of the building.

Car accident: At 7:25 p.m., firefighters responded to a two car motor vehicle accident. Three patients were involved; none were injured.
