Snoqualmie City Council approves new splashpad park

The city expects the facility to be open in 2024.

The Snoqualmie City Council approved the purchase and construction of a splashpad playground at Snoqualmie Community Park on Aug. 28.

The roughly $1.5 million project is part of the City’s adopted Capital Improvement Plan. The splashpad is expected to be open in summer 2024.

The splashpad will be placed where the current basketball court is located due to its close proximity to the park’s restroom and equipment storage building. The city is currently considering relocation options for the basketball court.

The splashpad will create another destination focal point at Snoqualmie Community Park, the city said a statement. Its multi-purpose design will allow children to cool off on summer days and offer space for other community events when not in use.

“We are excited to bring this fun amenity to Snoqualmie Community Park, offering Snoqualmie families a waterplay option during the summer months right here at home,” Snoqualmie Mayor Katherine Ross said in a press release.
