The Snoqualmie City Council, acting as the Snoqualmie Transportation Benefit District Board of Directors, has approved a new $20 vehicle license fee for all city residents.
The fee, approved by the board on Monday, Aug. 23, will go into effect in 2011; the exact date is yet to be determined.
The funds will be used for transportation projects in city limits. A draft list of potential transportation projects that might be funded from the fees can be viewed at the city Web site, www.cityofsnoqualmieorg under the ‘city projects’ tab.
Projects will be focused on infrastructure such as street reconstruction and improvements, new signal lights, and bridge repairs, among others. Projects such as these are deemed necessary for safety and congestion issues, and to prevent future, more costly repairs.
The Snoqualmie Transportation Benefit District Board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30 at City Hall to review the draft project list.
