The Snoqualmie Fire Association has canceled its annual pancake breakfast this year, due to time constraints and safety concerns.
The breakfast has been happening for 20 years, and proceeds are used by the association to help support the city’s fire department in buying equipment, providing safety and fire education and providing special services.
“It is with deep regret that we will not be hosting a pancake breakfast this year,” Sara York, president of the fire association, said. “With the anticipated numbers and increasing attendance, we could not figure out a way to safely host the event in the short amount of time we had available.”
York said the fire department will still have a booth at Railroad Days on Saturday, Aug. 28, where they will offer rig tours, fire safety information and a silent auction.
