Snoqualmie Firefighters from IAFF Local #2878 were out collecting donations with boots in hand for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Sunday, Aug. 7. Throughout the day, firefighters collected $6,000 in donations from generous community members.
Proceeds raised during the street-side campaign will help support the MDA services and research programs. The MDA would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all commuters who dropped their dollars and change into the boots of fire fighters on Friday. Firefighters have filled the boot for MDA since 1954, raising approximately $453 million.
Without the help of charitable commuters and support from the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), Fill the Boot would not be possible.
MDA is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. For more information about Fill-the-Boot or other MDA programs, please contact Shelli Kind at (425) 259-4078 or mkind@mdausa.org.
