After a nearly nine month search, the City of Snoqualmie has named Mike Sauerwein its new city administrator.
The city administrator is one of the most important positions in city government and is responsible for working alongside the mayor in the management of the city and its staff.
Sauerwein has nearly 30 years of experience working as a city manager, including nearly a decade as the assistant city manager in Sammamish. Since 2014, he has been the city manager for Medina.
He will take over for Interim City Administrator Mark Correira beginning Jan. 10. Correira, the city’s former fire chief, has been serving as the city administrator since March of 2021, when he replaced the resigning Rick Rudometkin.
“I look forward to serving the Snoqualmie community and working with the mayor, the city council and all of the great people who work for the city,” Sauerwein said in a city press release.
