Four people were robbed at knifepoint and assaulted early Saturday, Jan. 24, on S.R. 18 near Snoqualmie. The Washington State Patrol is investigating the incident and asking the public for more information about the incident.

“We’ll take any information anyone may have, about being in the area at that time… or a vehicle description,” says Trooper Chris Webb, spokesperson for the state patrol.

The victims, three men and a woman, primarily spoke Spanish, Webb said, so detectives talked with them through an interpreter.

The incident was reported to the state patrol shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday. The victims were driving westbound on S.R. 18 after leaving the Snoqualmie Casino, and had to stop their vehicle.

“Their lights had apparently gone out in the car, so they pulled onto the right shoulder,” said Webb.

The victims said “three dark skinned males,” who were driving “dark colored, four door sedan” stopped and spoke to them, then pulled out knives and assaulted them. The suspects also stole their wallets, a purse, money and cellular phones, then left, westbound on S.R. 18.

One possibility is that the group was followed as they left the casino. Webb said occasionally a big winner at the casino will be targeted when they leave the building. It was unclear whether any of the victims had won that night.

All of the victims were taken to a hospital and treated for their injuries, and have since been released.

Anyone with information about the incident, or who may have seen the victims in the casino that night, is asked to contact Detective Ruth Medeiros at ruth.medeiros@wsp.wa.gov or call (425) 401-7719.
