Wednesday, Dec. 29

Tree Down: At 9:10 p.m., residents from two homes contacted police about a loud boom they’d heard in the 39800 block of Southeast Walnut Street. The sound was followed by a power outage. Police discovered that a tree had fallen onto the power lines and hit the transformers. They contacted Puget Sound Energy and advised the residents to stay in their homes.

Stranded Cars: At 9:43 p.m., police were called to the intersection of Douglas Avenue and Curtis Drive, where a vehicle was partially blocking the roadway. The vehicle was one of several that had lost control or traction on the icy road.

Sunday, Dec. 26

Billiards Breaks: At 8:16 a.m., a citizen called police to report that someone had thrown a billiard ball through the passenger-side window of his pickup truck, in the 8800 block of Railroad Avenue. The victim said the window had been smashed some time between 6 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday, but couldn’t suggest any suspects. Police discovered four similar incidents during the day, one on Silva Avenue Southeast, and three in the county, off 384th Avenue.

Friday, Dec. 24

Designated Non-driver: At 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Fir Street, a patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed limit of 30 mph, and signaled it to stop. The driver identified himself as the designated driver, but said he had ID only from California. The officer recognized the passenger, who was intoxicated, as a juvenile. The driver was charged with driving without a valid license and the passenger was given a minor in consumption of alcohol citation. The registered owner, mother of the passenger, requested the vehicle be left on site for pick-up later.

North Bend Police Responses

Thursday, Dec. 23

Suspended driver: At 9:15 p.m., an officer on patrol checked the status of a vehicle driving in front of him in the 700 block of Southwest Mount Si Boulevard, and found that the owner had a suspended license, and was required to use an ignition interlock device to prevent driving while intoxicated. The officer stopped the vehicle and verified that the driver and registered owner had neither a license nor an interlock device.

Friday, Dec. 24

Bicycle Violation: At 1:01 a.m., an officer ticketed a bicyclist at the intersection of Southeast North Bend Way and 424 Avenue Southeast. The bicyclist was riding in the dark without a helmet or any lights on the bicycle.

Clothing Shoplift: At 11:53 a.m., a store employee in the 400 block of South Fork Avenue contacted police about a theft recorded on the in-store surveillance system. The caller noticed the missing items after running a computer inventory program, and then reviewed the tapes, which showed a man with a baby stroller taking the clothing.

Lock Tampering: At 1:20 p.m., an employee of a business in the 1400 block of Boalch Avenue reported that someone had damaged a lock on a storage door, possibly using a metal tool to try to break the lock. The business called again the next day to report that the locks on the storage unit had been forcibly removed. Nothing had been stolen from the storage area.

Thursday, Dec. 30

Bad dial: At 6:14 a.m., Snoqualmie emergency medical technicians (EMTs) were dispatched to Newton Street for a possible medical problem. A woman apparently pocket dialed a friend who was concerned about her, and was not in need of medical or police. Firefighters remind residents to lock their phones.

Wednesday, Dec. 29

Car accident: At 3:30 a.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to the Snoqualmie Casino parking lot for a motor vehicle accident.

Accident: At 7:50 a.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to Meadowbrook Way for a car accident.

Seizure: At 7:36 p.m., Snoqualmie EMTs responded to Southeast Isley Street for a 15-month-old child possibly experiencing a seizure. The child was evaluated and taken to the hospital by his parents.

Tuesday, Dec. 28

Alarm: At 1:15 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to the Salish Lodge for a fire alarm.

Monday, Dec. 27

Medical call: At 9:40 a.m., Snoqualmie EMTs were dispatched to the Snoqualmie Ridge area for a medical call. One patient was evaluated and then transported to the hospital by Snoqualmie EMTs.

Medical call: At 12:23 p.m., Snoqualmie EMTs responded to the Snoqualmie Casino for a medical call. One patient was evaluated and then left in care of the Snoqualmie Casino staff.

Sunday, Dec. 26

Fire alarm: At 7:44 a.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to the Snoqualmie Ridge area for a residential automatic fire alarm. After investigation, it was determined that it was a false alarm.

Saturday, Dec. 25

Vehicle fire: At 1:30 a.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to a vehicle fire on Snoqualmie Parkway. The fire was extinguished and investigated by King County Fire Investigators as suspicious.

Wednesday, Dec. 29

Car crash: At 7:24 a.m., firefighters responded to a one-car motor vehicle accident. One patient was treated and transported to Overlake Hospital via private ambulance.

Monday, Dec. 27

Lockout: At 6:05 p.m., firefighters responded to a citizen who had locked keys in a vehicle. Firefighters assisted in getting the door unlocked.

Sunday, Dec. 26

Death: At 3:26 p.m., firefighters responded to a 32-year-old woman who had died. The sheriff’s office and a chaplain were summoned to the scene.

Saturday, Dec. 25

Breathing problem: At 8:02 a.m., firefighters responded to help an 85-year-old man who was experiencing shortness of breath. He was also seen by a paramedic unit from Bellevue Fire. The man was treated and transported to Overlake Hospital via the medic unit.

Fire: At 10:42 a.m., firefighters responded to a bark fire. The owner of the pile was alerted and agreed to break up the pile.

Car accident: At 3:50 p.m., firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident. One patient was transported to Harborview Medical Center via paramedic unit.

Friday, Dec. 24

Car accident: At 3:39 p.m., firefighters responded to a single-car motor vehicle accident. One patient was treated and transported to Overlake Hospital via private ambulance.

Chest pain: At 4:54 p.m., firefighters responded to an 85-year-old woman that was experiencing chest pain. She was also seen by a paramedic unit from Bellevue Fire. The patient was treated and transported to Overlake Hospital via the medic unit.

Fire alarm: At 8:46 p.m., firefighters responded to a residential fire alarm. The alarm sounded due to a burning candle.

Thursday, Dec. 23

Fire: At 9:38 p.m., firefighters responded to a residential structure fire. Firefighters from Eastside Fire, Bellevue Fire, Snoqualmie Fire, and Fall City Fire worked to extinguish it. There were no injuries.
