Cortney Tubbs, a 2009 Mount Si High School graduate, will attend college this fall with a $1,000 scholarship from the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital Auxiliary.
She plans to study biology and pre-medicine at Seattle University. This is the second scholarship that the auxiliary has awarded.
By giving scholarships to young people going into the medical profession, the auxiliary hopes to inspire them to give back to their communities.
Funds are made possible through the auxiliary’s two major annual fundraisers.
One of those events, the Holiday Bazaar, is set for Saturday, Oct. 24, at Mount Si Senior Center.
