Two home burglaries were reported within a day of each other in Snoqualmie late last month.

The two break-ins happened within a few blocks of each other, too, but don’t appear to be related, Snoqualmie police said.

The homes were entered by an unsecured window or door in the daytime hours Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 25 and 26. The first burglary happened at the 6900 block of Silent Creek Avenue Southeast, while the second took place at the 35000 block of Rhododendron Drive Southeast.

The thief or thieves appeared to know what they were looking for in the first burglary, taking an estimated $15,000 worth of valuables. In the second instance, the home had been ransacked. Numerous items were taken from that home, including a lot of jewelry. There were no suspects, and no value on the stolen items was available as of press time. Police have notified local pawn shops about the stolen merchandise.

If caught, the burglar would face first degree residential burglary charges.

As residents prepare to travel during the holidays, police remind them to notify neighbors when they will be away. Residents should keep their doors and windows locked at all times, and dial 911 if they see any suspicious activity.
