Snoqualmie police investigated a collision involving a Snoqualmie Valley School District-owned van that sideswiped a parked car near Mount Si High School, then drove away.

At 11:22 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, an officer was dispatched to Mount Si High School, where an assistant principal reported that he was contacted by two students who said they had seen a collision about an hour before involving a yellow district van and a parked car. The maroon 1989 Chevrolet Cavalier two-door sedan was parked on the east side of Schusman Avenue, near the high school’s south entrance. The officer noted damage to the driver’s side and rear of the car.

After speaking with Snoqualmie School District Facilities Supervisor Carl Larson, the officer learned a middle-school teacher had loaned the van to a high-school teacher at the time of the collision and contacted that teacher by cell phone. The teacher told the officer he didn’t realize that he had hit the car. He was not charged with a crime, so is not being identified.
