Tuesday, July 24

Familiar face: At 11 p.m., an officer on patrol recognized the driver of a vehicle on Southeast Park Street near Meadowbrook Way, and knew his license was suspended, and so pulled him over. The driver said he was saving up to reinstate his license, suspended for an unpaid ticket.

Saturday, July 21

Pass/fail: At 2:40 a.m., an officer at Southeast Fir Street and Maple Avenue Southeast saw a vehicle swerving over the fog line, stopping well past  stop signs and failing to signal turns, or else signalling left turns when turning right. The driver appeared intoxicated, and agreed to take several field sobriety tests. He refused to provide a breath sample, however, saying he “passed” the field sobriety tests and had been driving very carefully. He refused to cooperate with the officer until he was taken to the Issaquah Jail, where he provided a breath sample only after the Snoqualmie Officer left the room.

Friday, July 20

School bus damaged: At 8:26 a.m., police were called to a vandalism report in the 35000 block of Southeast Ridge Street, where someone had broken the windshield of a school bus. The bus had been parked in the community park lot. An officer recovered a steel grasshopper sculpture by the front tire on the driver’s side.

Vandalism series: At 7:09 a.m., police were called to a parking lot in the 7700 block of Center Boulevard and took several vandalism reports. A store manager reported that someone had thrown store plants into the street and smashed a large flowerpot, estimated at $250. While in the area, the officer saw a car that had both rear-view mirrors and both windshield wipers broken off, and one flat tire. A third victim reported damage to both rear-view mirrors on his car, which seemed to be caused by a baseball bat.

Thursday, July 26

Burglary: At 12:00 a.m., a resident of the 1000 block of Cedar Falls Road reported a burglary at his home. He said he’d just gotten home and saw his front plate-glass window broken out, and both the front and back doors of his home standing open. Two items were missing from his kitchen counter, an iPad, and $75 in cash.

Sunday, July 22

Patio to pond: At 2:14 p.m., a restaurant in the 500 block of Southwest Mount Si Boulevard reported a case of vandalism. Someone had apparently taken the outdoor furniture from the restaurant’s attached patio, and thrown it into a nearby retention pond. No entry was made into the restaurant.

Saturday, July 21

Moving theft: At 11:10 a.m., a resident in the 45100 block of Southeast Tanner Road reported he was the victim of theft. The man, a renter, had been packing up and moving out, since finding out his home was going into short-sale since the home-owner hadn’t paid the mortgage since 2010. He said someone had broken into the home and detached shed for the theft.

Broken up: At 11:57 p.m., deputies were called to a fight in the 100 block of East North Bend Way. Before they arrived, however, a bartender at the business reported that the two combatants were gone.

Thursday, July 26

Stolen car: At 11:29 a.m., an officer saw a car known to be stolen, and stopped the vehicle near Spillman Avenue and East Morrison Street. The young driver was arrested and taken to the county’s juvenile-detention facility.

Wednesday, July 25

Stranded: At 11:58 p.m., an officer on patrol saw a vehicle still parked at the Tolt Hill boat launch, near Tolt Avenue and Northeast Tolt Hill Road. All the windows were down and the keys were in the ignition. The officer contacted a family member of the registered owner and learned that the man had been on the river when his personal watercraft had broken down. The man had managed to get back to the boat launch, though, by the time the officer returned to help.
